Six Stores and Lunch with The Birds
My marathon shopping trip started with a rain storm and 40 MPH winds, lunch with The Birds, and ended with awesome vintage finds.

7-11 lost its sign due to high winds. Should I turn around, go home? Nope. But, before you say I'm crazy, I did check the weather, this was the end of the storm and the weatherman said the worse was over. I thought I'd get a headstart on the day. But...
As I arrived at the Goodwill Outlet Store, I saw a lot of cars in the parking lot. I guess I wasn't the only one to brave the storm for the love of thrifting.

If you haven't been to a Goodwill Outlet store, you're missing out. There are BINS full of clothing, purses, belts, books, and brick-a-brack. The downside- you have to dig through all of that stuff. This is where the unsold merchandise from all the stores ends up before being crushed and disposed. Someday, I will write more about this place and the shoe-people. But, if you take a trip here, plan to stay for at least an hour to dig and dig and dig.

Oh, what a tangled web we weave when we sell fake Prada, Coach, and Gucci. This place is really trashy, and they put a lot of fake on the sale’s floor. I have no idea why anyone would fall for this fakery because they have the real designer items locked up in a glass case behind the counter. The only reason I come here is because most shoppers are looking for newer, “designer” items and over-look the awesome 50s, 60s, and 70s vintage. Good. More for me. Next, it's time for a

Coffee Break- Gotta have a Wawa! Coffee! So needed after that last store- whew. I found a few gems, but I march onward to the next store.

It finally stopped raining, though still gloomy. This is a large Salvation Army. Sometimes I do well here, sometimes not. The store is very large, so it attracts a lot of shoppers. Today? Big nothing. Now that its mid-day, other people have been here and picked the place clean. I did buy a glass dish. Don’t ask me why. I just did. It was pretty. And I was too lazy to walk to the other side of the store and put it back. Well, the coffee helped, but I’ve been shopping for over five hours. The dish...umm...it’s a cute dish. Sure.

Lunch Time - Fries?
"Hey, Lady."
"Yes, Bird?"
"What'cha got in that bag?"
"This bag?"
"Yes. That bag."
"Just some yummy fries."
"Hey, Lady."
"Yes, Cute Bird?"
"Jimmy said you have fries."
"Sure. I have fries."
"That's what I told my friends."
"Fries?"
"Fries?"
"Fries?"
"Did someone say FRIES?"
"Hand over the fries and no one get's hurt."
B-I-R-D-S!
(I think it's time to leave)

Look, the sun has come out. And good timing. I’m switching into slow mode…no more rushing around. A lot of places have been shopped buy other pickers early in the morning. Yet, there is no reason to quit. Other buyers may not be purchasing the same items I’m looking for, and, in their haste, they may have passed over a great vintage find. Besides, staff at thrift stores put out new items all day. Now, I take my time and enjoy my treasure hunting. A positive attitude can net you some great finds.

Enter: if you dare. This is another hit or miss place. In general, a good store, but can get really picked over. Sometimes it's a haul, sometimes not so much.
